Kevin + Latoyia, Santa Rosa Beach, FL

When: 04.02.11
Where: Eden Gardens State Park, Santa Rosa Beach Florida

Where do I begin? As I sat here trying to write this blog post, words just cannot describe how much Michael and I love Kevin + Latoyia. They are just made for each other in every way imaginable. From the very moment we met them, we just felt privileged to be in their company.

Kevin’s family originally is from Haiti and Latoyia is originally from Panama City. They met in Brooklyn where Kevin is a personal trainer (and I must say, these two are incredibly fit… it’s not even fair. :) ) and Latoyia works for Ralph Lauren (hello. stylish!) :) It made perfect sense for them to get married in the beautiful, lush gardens of Eden Gardens for their “South Meets City” vows.

Our {heartfelt thank- yous} go out to:

Jimmy & Laura Beth, Santa Rosa Beach, Fl

Sit back and get ready for a mega post, y’all. :)
Right now, i’m sitting here listening to Paul Simon’s “You Can Call Me Al” and I can’t help but smile because I’m pretty sure that I could write a book about how much I adore Laura Beth, Jimmy, and their families. If you haven’t heard the song, you have to listen to it. You will just feel happy all over. It is something truly special that from the moment you meet someone, you seem to have that bond that you can’t explain or even describe. That is how it is with Laura Beth. Literally, from the first time we spoke over the phone, I could not wait for her wedding. What can I say? We are kindred souls. :)
So it was no surprise that when Michael and I arrived to photograph Laura Beth + Jimmy’s wedding, that we felt right at home. We weren’t photographers, we were friends photographing friends. So Laura Beth + Jimmy, you can call us “Betty” anytime. And we will call you “Al”. :D
I cannot be more proud to show you these images from their wedding day. Laura Beth + Jimmy, we will miss you when you move to Scottsdale Arizona! We might have to make a trip out there! ;)

How about that playlist? :)

Shoe. ENVY. :)

Meanwhile, back at guys hacienda…

Jimmy + Laura Beth took a few moments for themselves before the wedding to see each other. I loved this first look. So beautiful and emotional. Brides, seriously, consider doing this. You won’t regret it. :)

Jimmy + Laura Beth are big fans of the movie “Up”. Laura Beth gave Jimmy a grape soda cap pin because they “are in each other’s clubs for life.”

The shops of Ruskin Place in Seaside was a gorgeous backdrop for pictures.

Boys will be boys. Not sure what was said here but i’m sure it was completely inappropriate! :D

Laura Beth’s grandmother made all the florals! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So pretty! Laura Beth said that she really would love to have peonies in the bouquets, but this time of year, they are out of season locally. So Mrs. Myrick had them flown in from Israel. :)

Laura Beth, you are stunning.

Dexter, Laura Beth + Jimmy’s puppy served as the ring bearer.

This was our first time shooting at the lovely Bentley’s on the Bay and I hope it won’t be the last. Absolutely amazing!

Sweet Anne.

Be still my heart. *sigh*

Time for the rings! Go Dexter! :D

Ok ya’ll…. there is nothing “technically” correct about this next photo. But I don’t care. I love it, because it is REAL. Part of our jobs is not always be correct, but to document love and purity. This moment represents why we do what we do. And so what if it’s not “right”? There is truth and life in that moment. Don’t discard it.

First walk as man and wife.

An emotional toast by Dad. :)

I don’t know how many pictures we took of Laura Beth and her father dancing, but it was lovely. I loved witnessing the dynamic between Laura Beth and her father. One of my most favorite father/daughter dances EVER. When it was over, Michael and I both looked at each other and said we should have recorded it.

Every detail was so fun, and Jimmy’s cake was no exception.

Mom seeing her baby off. :)

Laura Beth + Jimmy: you will never know how special you are to both of us. We were honored to be there for you both on your wedding day. We love you! :)

A special thank you to the Calcote and Holloway families! :)

Our {heartfelt} thanks go out to all the vendors!
